About me

Dear Reader, thanks so much for taking an interest.

I’m a writer of blogs, poetry, short stories, articles, profiles and websites.

My first career was in broadcasting. I was a researcher for BBC Radio 4 (including In The Psychiatrist’s Chair with Professor Anthony Clare). Then I switched to BBC TV documentaries, where I worked as a producer-director with Russell Harty on his Grand Tour of Europe, with A N Wilson on Eminent Victorians, with Ian Gibson on Fire in the Blood about Spain since Franco – and on a series looking behind-the-scenes at Sotheby’s.

I was then a writer and editor for several London-based communications agencies, working with clients as varied as Canon Europe, Danish luxury bathroom designers Vola, and law firm Clifford Chance.

More recently I’ve also been having lots of fun teaching Spanish evening classes to adults and translating for the Instituto Cervantes (I’m half English, half Spanish).

When I’m not ‘doing a proper job’, I love nothing more than observing the oddities of daily life and trying to make sense of them in writing. I hope you enjoy my blog and won’t be shy about adding your comments and views in response.
